The Seezeit shop at the entrance to the University of Konstanz remains closed on Tuesday, 27 October 2026. The current photo shows the shop behind its blue glass frontage, with a “Shop closed” notice still on the entrance door.
The notice says the shop will remain closed in August and that Seezeit will provide an update once it has decided when and in what form the area will reopen. It gives no firm reopening date. The Seezeit shop page we checked still only states that the shop has been closed since 30 July.
Seezeit announced the closure on 24 July. The shop at the university was due to close from Thursday, 30 July 2026, and the sale was to end at the same time. Seezeit said it would share information once the timing and form of a reopening had been decided. Nearly three months later, the shop remains closed and no new timetable is publicly listed.
What is no longer available at the entrance
According to Seezeit, the shop was located directly in the university entrance area on level A5. Its former range included student tickets for Stadtwerke Konstanz and the Hegau-Bodensee Transport Association (VHB), small gifts and souvenirs, as well as pens, folders, calculators, calendars and magazines. The shop page does not identify another ticket sales point or a replacement for the shop.
What happens next?
It remains unclear whether the area will reopen as a shop, return with a different range or be used for something else. It is also unclear where students can buy the tickets previously sold there. Seezeit said it would inform students once the timing and form had been decided.
Konstanz.study will continue to follow the issue. We will publish a follow-up article once a timetable, a new concept or information from Seezeit becomes available.
